Practice Areas

Personal injury law is complex; attempting to pursue your claim without the assistance of qualified legal counsel might further complicate your case and jeopardize your chances of receiving adequate compensation. At Price Benowitz LLP, we can help you pursue legal avenues to protect your interests, and hold accountable those responsible for your injuries.

Maryland Car Accident Lawyer

After an auto accident, there are a number of issues that victims must deal with, including vehicle damages, pain and suffering, lost wages, emotional trauma, and limited mobility. The frustration of knowing your injuries and property damage were the result of someone else's carelessness can further exacerbate an already difficult situation.

The Maryland auto accident attorneys at Price Benowitz LLP understand the difficulties of such cases and can fight to get you the compensation you need and deserve. For those who have been injured through preventable accidents caused by another's carelessness, recklessness, or failure to maintain safe conditions, compensation can be achieved with the help of our devoted legal team.

Each year, approximately six million people in the United States are involved in motor vehicle accidents. Car accidents, truck accidents, and other transportation accidents lead to injuries ranging from contusions, lacerations, and whiplash to traumatic brain injury, paralysis, and death. An aggressive personal injury attorney can help determine the party or parties liable for the accident that caused your injury and seek just compensation for your suffering. If you are injured in a rollover accident in Maryland, for example, you may be able to pursue financial compensation from not only the reckless driver who caused your car accident, but also from the automobile company if design flaws put your vehicle at unreasonable risk of rollover. Whether you were injured in an accident caused by a single reckless driver or in a public transportation accident caused by the failure of multiple parties to protect your safety, your attorney can fight to secure compensation for your medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other associated costs of a personal injury accident.

Accidental injuries are often called "unintentional injuries." These injuries are not caused by another's malice; rather, they are caused by negligence or carelessness. However, a lack of intent does not alleviate the responsible party from the obligation to compensate you for injuries caused by his or her actions or inaction. A car crash may be referred to as an "automobile accident," but that does not mean it could not have been avoided had the other driver practiced safe driving. Distracted driving, drunk driving, and reckless driving can all cause serious or fatal car accidents resulting in catastrophic personal injuries or wrongful death.

For example, a distracted driver may easily cause a rear-end accident through his or her inattention to the road and the surrounding vehicles. A rear-end accident can leave the occupants of the struck vehicle with whiplash or serious neck, back, or spinal cord injuries. Whiplash and other related injuries can cause extreme pain and require the injured car accident victim to miss a significant number of work days during recuperation. Though the distracted driver did not intend to harm another person, he or she should be held accountable for the medical expenses, lost wages, and physical pain of the person who suffered as a result of his or her carelessness. The attorneys at Price Benowitz LLP can help you get the compensation you deserve from those responsible for your suffering and expenses.

Medical Malpractice

Medical Malpractice cases can be pursued when injuries are suffered because of the mistakes or negligence of a medical caregiver. Our medical malpractice lawyer page will provide a more detailed list of the types of cases that can result in a claim, but here are just a few:

  • Surgical Injury
  • Wrongful Death
  • Missed or delayed diagnosis
  • Prescription error

There is a statute of limitations in these cases, so if you think you have a legitimate claim against a medical caregiver, it is important that you act quickly. Our attorneys have experience pursuing this type of claim and will be able to help you if you elect to bring a case.

Workers’ Compensation

If you are injured while performing the normal duties of your job, you might be eligible to file a claim against your employer to receive benefits and consideration while you recover and rehabilitate. Continue through to our workers' compensation lawyer page for more info about the benefits you may be eligible to receive in a case, for example:

  • Temporary Total Disability Benefits
  • Medical Benefits
  • Hospitalization Benefits
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits
  • Permanent Partial Disability Benefits
  • Permanent Total Disability Benefits

The laws that govern workers' compensation are set up to protect both parties. Our attorneys will be able to help you understand the complexities of these laws and advise you as to whether or not you have a case worth bringing against your employer.

Tough Mudder, triathlons, endurance events, and wrongful deaths

December 9, 2013

According to a recent article from Outsider Magazine, the family of a young man from Columbia, Maryland, who drowned during a portion of a recent Tough Mudder competition called "Walk the Plank" is considering wrongful death litigation against the obstacle course host and an emergency management subcontractor called Amphibious Medics for failure to provide adequate safety precautions and a timely rescue response.

While the family has taken the initiative to hire lawyers in preparation of a possible multi-million dollar gross-negligence suit, no paperwork has yet been filed in court. Outsider suggests that the family may be in talks with Tough Mudder about an out-of-court settlement.
